As we celebrate the joy of Christmas, we rejoice in the good news that God sent His Son, Jesus Christ, to bring salvation to the world. The angel’s announcement to the shepherds makes this clear: “Don’t be afraid,” the angel told them, “for look, I proclaim to you good news of great joy that will be for all the people: Today in the city of David a Savior was born for you, who is the Messiah, the Lord” (Luke 2:10–11). From the very beginning, the incarnation was God’s declaration that the hope found in Christ is for all peoples, everywhere.
While we gather with family and friends to celebrate Christ’s birth, millions around the world have still never heard this good news. That reality invites us to look beyond ourselves this Christmas season.
